How is this how Ventus feels all the time??? How does he function? Vanitas has no idea. The bath is nice and warm but Vanitas came in from Siberia.
Vanitas is not sure how he feels about having this common ground. With the dreams and the injuries he could lord it over a little. They are a little chilly and the moment he discovered she was sensitive about it he needled her on it and now she sniffily ignores him when he says it, which takes all the fun out of it. "She switches from a blizzard spell at the last second," he says authoritatively without any authority at all.
It takes a while for Vanitas to realise the emotion he's feeling as Ventus talks about this is protectiveness, of a sort. The idea of Eraqus doing anything to Ventus is terrifying. Ventus is, in a big sense, what Vanitas has left. Locks are kind of useless in a castle of keybladers, but it still makes Vanitas's spine fizz for some reason.
"Those adults are also stupid dumb babies," Vanitas says in the face of this mounting discomfort. "No!" he says, when Ventus suggests getting Aqua, sitting up from his position half-melted onto the bed. "Are you an idiot? The more people here the more chance Eraqus will know. And you can't let Eraqus know. If you do I'll- I'll-" Vanitas visibly searches for some kind of credible threat to make this stick, because it's so incredibly important and he can't really conceive of someone sticking to their word without one. "I'll push you out the window."
