After the notice came into the palace of Vanitas' predictable utterly surprising failure to sack the north pole, the current Fire Lord had called Ventus. Not in person of course, but the messenger delivered the orders well enough.
While General Axel was still missing, Vanitas had survived, along with Uncle Bragi. Ventus had no idea how Xehanort had figured that out, but he'd been on a ship setting course for some spa towards the north of the Earth Kingdom before he could do any real poking.
Still the ship is nice, it's been years since there were family vacations to speak of, and Ventus is determined to get his ocean air when he can get it. When they pull ashore to the spa where Vanitas and Uncle are staying, he's even more pleased. He knew it was nice, but Uncle's taste really was frivolous. Ventus could see at least ten different ways to sack the thing, which probably meant the baths were excellent.
Checking in isn't really necessary when yoursecond first in line for the throne and show up with a full battleship. Getting the key wasn't hard either, and the shaking clerk pressed it into Ventus' hand.
After that, it was only a matter of settling in on Vanitas's bed for a bit of shut eye before his brother came in, arguing with uncle on something or other. Ventus propped himself up onto an elbow to grin at them.
"Hello brother." He waves a hand, grinning at Zuko, and then Uncle in turn.
